American Football Discussion Thread
No running game,Mcnabb hurt, owens crap has drained alot of happness from the team,4-4 record, too pass happy, they just lost the center and have to use a rookie, with all that being said I dont see the eagles winning the NFC championship or even getting there its not owens only it's all these reasons you have to be able to run the football the eagles cant, you have to have a Qb who can play well when Mcnabb is hurt it's not so easy, Too much passing they gotta run the football and pass, owens drama all over the place makes the 4-4 record they where not thinking about football they where thinking about owens the good news is westbrook signed 5 yr deal, akers signed to stay till 2010, they got chad lewis back so they have two tight ends now good ones too
and more good news owens and his agent drew will lose 40 million of his contract he will not get this money so owens got around 8. million something after all this crap with him and his rants
will anyone take owens and pay him more then 40 million? No I dont see it happening plus the good teams dont need him and the bad ones may not want him he's alot worse then randy moss well this is why the eagles wont make it however next year with all this it could be a great year but this year at 4-4 with all this can they overcome and get there I say no, if they do I will look like a stupid idiot but that remains to be seen.

Well ty... I have to say, that was big-time stand up. I remember the debates we had when the season started and you were convinced the Iggles were going all the way. Way to not be a fanboy, major props.
So for my part I have to say... the Pats are done for. I was pulling for them to make it back, but the only reason they'll even make the playoffs is because the rest of the AFC East is such garbage. Tom Brady is still superhuman, but he's got NO help. Corey Dillon hasn't been healthy all year, Rodney Harrison is a HUGE loss to the defense (bigger than Tedy IMO), and the rest of the secondary is also on the DL. If Bill Belichick wasn't a genius, and if Tom Brady and Adam Venitieri weren't completely out of this world, the Pats would be 1-7 like the Packers.
And I HATE to say this... but the Colts look unstoppable. They've learned how to balance their offense. They can win WITHOUT Peyton Manning having to throw for 400 yards and 3 TD's. And their defense has finally come together. Dwight Freeney is playing out of his mind. Don Shula better be sweating bullets right now. The only team left on their schedule that can stop the Colts are the Steelers, and even that is even money at best. We may see another undefeated season.
So the Colts will steamroll their way to the Super Bowl XL where they'll face....... the Carolina Panthers. I love Jake Delhomme, they're finally healthy again, and Julius Peppers is finally getting on track. The Falcons are a paper tiger. Michael Vick needs to just give it up and play running back. No team in the NFC North or West is going to make it. The Giants and Cowboys will make things interesting in the NFC, but it's all about the Panthers.
Super Bowl XL
Colts 38
Panthers 30
God I hate having to say that.

At the start of the season they did and could have made it and even won the super bowl but then owens was a jerk, Mcnabb got hurt too much, they quit the running game, and are now 4-4 at the start I was sure of the eagles outcome now I sure in the worst way they are over this year but next year maybe they can do alot better.
yes the pats will only get the 3 rings they have too much is wrong with them to make it
colts are not unstopable untill they beat the panthers and steelers once they do that I will agree on that but I am sure they will go 9-0 no question in my mind
dont forget how good denver is too with the way they are playing it's possable a super bowl could be in there future however we are only at the half way point what happens from this new half will show who's the best.

colts just beat the pats last monday 41-21 the pats will not be even in the wildcard i mean think about it so many hurting players and brady sucks lol he's the only hero there so like the packers brett there seasons are over this year denver is the team to beat and so is the colts in the afc maybe the steelers depending on what ben does the rest of the year in the nfc panthers and giants are the teams to beat maybe dallas as well
and well thats it look i gave up on the eagles after the loss at redskins and after owens screwed over the team so give up on the pats they wont get anywere this year next year theres hope but the eagles and pats are both
4-4 thats right 4-4! only a .500 team so they both are over the season is now open for other teams oh and the bucs are over too there best Qb is gone and there running back has flat tires.

You want to know the real reason why the Eagles wont make it to the NFC championship? Because the spot is already saved for the New York Giants.

The Pats will get back to the playoffs. Not because they're so good, but because the AFC East is so bad. Who's going to challenge them? Buffalo? No offense. The Jets? No quarterback. The Dolphins? No anything. It's the Pats division to lose.
Denver has been good, but they've been completely OWNED by the Colts in the playoffs the last few years. And with the improvements to the Colts defense, I don't see that trend changing.

Go Packers!
*wakes up from dream*
The Colts are looking really good but they haven't gone up against a decent secondary yet. The Pat's secondary was full of holes. But like I've said before, it's hard to argue with 8-0.

they will be 9-0 cuz of the fact they face the texans again this week at the colts so the texans suck so the colts will go 9-0

The way I see it, if the colts can beat the bengals (which I think is like 2 weeks away) then they should be able to go to the Super Bowl this years fairly easily.

I don't think they'll make it to the NFC championships either. McNabb is good some days, but he's too inconsistent. I agree with you, too, in saying that they pass the ball way too much. The other teams can anticipate it. That's why they always lose: no variation. TO is also really RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOy and makes a big deal if he gets a touchdown. IMHO, whoopdie-friggin-do. One touchdown, congratulations You've joined the thousands of others who have run into the endzone. But the Colts are gonna go all the way this year. They always get stopped by the Patriots in the playoffs, but now the Patriots pretty much suck. The Colts have my bet. About time Peyton got a Superbowl win.

Well its great to see women who enjoy pro football you dont see it much
however if the colts lose to the steelers id have to pick the steelers cuz the only team ben rothlisberger hasnt beaten yet is the pats but other then that he's 16-1! so if the colts lose to the steelers i'll pick the steelers if they beat the steelers i will say yea ok colts in the super bowl but still we are only at the half way point no idea what will happen in the comming weeks what if peyton gets hurt? or the eagles lose westbrook, or the steelers lose ben, or the panthers get hurt and they lose alot of players last year they did but anyways i say at the half way point colts vs giants super bowl if the eagles wanna win or even get near they need to win 10 games then they would be 10-4 so i dont fully count em out but lets see what unfolds.

If Manning doesn't win it this year he'll never win one.. he needs to get over than postseason jinx that he's had for the past few years.

my fav game with the colts was when the colts where down 35 to the bucs and they came back in less then 2 mins to win it! i loved that game the colts ruled and that was when they where 5-0 last year or a few yrs back.

WRONG
i pick a new fav team or group of teams every year this year
denver my top choice
colts
eagles
steelers
panthers.
btw i have been an eagles and steelers fan for 5+ years but the eagles are really pushing me steelers however are not so bad last year i wanted to see eagles vs steelers and all the steelers had to do was beat the pats in the AFC championship they lost ben rothlisberger is 16-1 the only team he lost to was the pats but now i see it seems a curse is following both these teams the eagles and pats have same record lost players and are not that good can you say maybe theres a curse on both these teams?
